Ten kestrels were released in nature in the vicinity of the Kremikovtsi Monastery near Sofia.

This traditional release of birds raised by the Green Balkans Wildlife Rescue Center took place yesterday. The Ministry of Environment and Water (MOEW) has supported the organization successfully for many years, whereby support was provided on a competitive basis through the EMEPA.

Over the years, with the help of the “Green Balkans” thousands of protected species from the Bulgarian fauna have been saved. The activities of the Center constitute an example of a thriving organization to the benefit of society and Bulgarian nature with many successful projects and hundreds of volunteers and followers.

The event was attended by volunteers, donors, adoptive parents, representatives of the Ministry of Environment and Water, and Green Balkans’ partners.

The Center expressed its satisfaction with the initiative becoming a tradition and an anticipated event for all nature-lovers in the area.
